When you collect student work with Moodle assignments you have the following options for
communicating grades and feedback to students:
- Simple grading: Enter a mark for the assignment
- Enter an overall feedback comment
- Use PDF annotation for detailed feedback using a variety of tools, stamps and comments.
- Use a Grading Form, a grading method where you can enter a comment and score per
criterion. The grading form then totals the scores to calculate a grade according to the grade
settings for the assignment.
- Offline grading: Allows you to grade assignment submissions without being logged in to
Moodle or connected to the Internet. With offline grading, you enter grades into a customised
grading spreadsheet and upload the spreadsheet to Moodle at a later time.
Note: Offline grading is not available for assignments that use an advanced grading method
(e.g. a Rubric or Grading Guide).
Note: It is essential grades are only released to students on the official MIC grade release date. You should use the Marking Workflow feature in Moodle Assignments for this.
