1. On your course page, click the name of a Moodle assignment activity. The Assignment page opens and displays the description of the assignment and Grading Summary.

  2. Above the summary, click the Submissions tab. The submissions tab will open.
  3. The submissions tab displays a table showing student names, when submissions were last modified, and links to the submissions. It also shows additional information such as Extension due date (for granting an extension process go to How to grant an extension in Moodle assignment - MIC-LEAD Knowledge Base) Submissions tab displaying student submission                                                                                               
  4. To filter the table to show only those students with submissions, or submissions that require grading, use the filter drop-down menus in the Options section. As you set options, the page will automatically refresh to reflect changes. If there is more than one page of students, below the table you will see links with Page numbers, Next, and Previous.

    5. Select all assignment submissions by ticking the checkbox highlighted below. Then in the With     selected section, select Set marking workflow state from the tab below Submissions tab with select all and more button highlighted
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

        6.When More is clicked, select the Change marking state and in the Set Marking State pop-up select          Change marking state in blue.

        7. Next, set the
Marking workflow state to In marking, then click Save changesSet Marking workflow state in the dropdwon to In marking.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                             
When marking workflow is set to In marking, students cannot view grades and feedback.

Note: Before you begin grading always ensure the marking workflow state is set to ‘In marking’ to ensure grades and feedback are not visible/released to students in advance of the official MIC grade release date.
