- Ensure to toggle Edit mode on in the top right corner of the course page you seek to add a group assignment.
- Create a new Moodle assignment (Follow Creating a Moodle assignment).Or edit settings of an existing assignment.
- When you have created an assignment and added assignment name and description, scroll down to Group submission settings and expand this section.
- Under this dropdown, change the Students submit in groups option to Yes.
- If you require certain groups of students to submit to the assignment link then a grouping can be selected. By default no grouping will be selected and Moodle will pull all groups listed on the module page to submit to the assignment.
- If you change the Require group to make submission to Yes, then students must be assigned to a group in order to submit to this assignment.
- The final setting Require all group members submit only becomes available if under Submission settings tab, Require students to click the submit button is changed to Yes.
This means if changed to yes that each individual member of the group must go into the assignment and press submit for complete the submission. - Standard settings would typically consist of the following:

- Select Save and return to course when satisfied with your group assignment settings and your group assignment will display on your course page.
