Groupings refer to a collection of groups within a course, so you can direct work at one or more groups and allow them to work collaboratively.
  1. Within the course page you seek to have groupings for, ensure to toggle Edit mode on in the top right corner of the course page.

  2. On the course page, go to the Participants tab.

  3. In the participants tab, Go to the Enrolled Users dropdown and select Groupings from the options offered.

  4. In the Groupings menu, select the Create groupings button.

  5. Add any details required in the boxes provided and ensure to select the Save changes  button.

Adding groups to a grouping: (Follow How to create groups in Moodle for making groups in a course)
  1.  When you have created a grouping, the grouping is displayed in the Grouping menu. Select the Show groups in Grouping, people icon under Edit section.

  2. In this group menu, the right box displays Potential member/s to be added to the grouping created. Select the left arrow Add to bring a group to the left box which displays the Existing member/s in the grouping.

  3. If you want to remove any group/s added to the grouping, simply select the right arrow Remove option to bring back to the potential member/s box.

  4. When satisfied with the groups added, select the Back to groupings option.

  5. The group that is now an existing member will now display in the grouping menu under Groups.
