Granting date extensions to individual students is a new function available in the new Turnitin Feedback Studio Standard Assignment. Extensions may be granted on the basis of hours or days and can be applied differently to students according to circumstances.

Important
Extensions may be granted for various reasons. In most cases an extension is granted because a student has been unable to make a submission by the specified due date. Circumstances may arise where a student may inadvertently have submitted work which was not correct and they may not be able to rectify this if restrictive submission settings are configured. This may necessitate the removal of existing work before the student can resubmit. Review the article linked How do I delete a Turnitin Feedback Studio Submission? for guidance on this.
