Granting date extensions to individual
students is a new function available in
the new Turnitin Feedback Studio Standard
Assignment. Extensions may be granted on
the basis of hours or days and can be
applied differently to students according
to circumstances.
Important
Extensions may be granted for various
reasons. In most cases an extension is
granted because a student has been unable
to make a submission by the specified due
date. Circumstances may arise where a
student may inadvertently have submitted
work which was not correct and they may
not be able to rectify this if restrictive
submission settings are configured. This
may necessitate the removal of existing
work before the student can resubmit.
Review the article linked How do I delete a
Turnitin Feedback Studio
Submission? for
guidance on this.
To grant an Extension to an

- From the context menu that opens, select the Grant extension option. A dialogue will then open confirming details of the student for whom you wish to provide the extension. Satisfy yourself that you are working on the correct student;
- At Extend by chose whether you wish to add Hours or Days and the specify the number to be added (from 1 to 999 maximum which may be selected using the arrows or by typing the digits). The Original due date will display the existing due date while the Extend due date until will display the calculated extension based on your settings;
- When satisfied that the extension details are correct, click Confirm;
- When returned to the Student submissions inbox you will see the extension grant displayed under the Submitted heading as configured.
- If needed, the extension may be further edited by repeating the steps above, this time selecting the Edit extension option

any granted extension and revert
the student to the original due
date;

details are correct, click Confirm;

for the revised, shorter period.
