A rubric is a scoring guide, typically in
table format, that articulates specific
criteria and performance expectations for an
assignment, project, or performance. Moodle
Assignment has introduced Ranged
Rubrics as a new option in Advanced
Grading. Ranged Rubrics differ from the
default Rubric option in Moodle Assignment, as
it allows graders to chose a score from a
range rather than a set score.
Advantages of using Ranged
Rubrics:
- Ranged rubrics can allow graders to better
distinguish students' performances based
on predefined criterion at a certain
level. This will enable providing exact
expectations to students in their
assessment. It enhances clarity of the
grading and feedback process.
- Feedback Comments can be added for each
score chosen, to provide more detailed
feedback and guidance to students.
- Once attached, students will have access
to review and familiarise themselves with
the Ranged Rubric within the Moodle
Assignment.
