When creating a Turnitin Assignment
 

  1. Open the relevant Moodle course page.
  2. Follow instructions from knowledge base article "How do I Create a Turnitin assignment on my Course Page?" until the Rubrics settings Tab section.
  3. Select the Create Rubric button to start the creation of a new Rubric in Feedback Studio.
    Note: Existing Rubrics can be found by launching the Rubric Manager

  4. You will be presented with two options, import rubric from file or create new rubric. Select the option to Create New Rubric and select Next.Panel pop up, displaying option to import rubric or create new rubric. Create new rubric is highlighted and Next button
  5. Give your rubric a title and select the option for Custom Rubric. In the Rubric options input the number criteria rows and scale columns that will be required for your Rubric. When you are happy with your setup click Next.

  6. You will be presented with a table-like space where you can input your rubric details which include:
    • Criteria - Criteria title and Criteria description

    Note: In this space you will have the option to add more criteria and scales using the + icon. Delete using the bin icon and move using the arrows.

    If you are looking to build a more comprehensive rubric it would be recommended to create this after the assignment has already been saved and created. The space for rubric creation in the initial setup is relatively small and would cause difficulty when creating more advanced rubrics.


  7. When you are happy the rubric you have setup, scroll down to the end of the space and click Save.

When a Turnitin Assignment is already created

  1. To start, follow instructions from knowledge base article "How do I Edit an Existing Turnitin Feedback Studio Assignment".

  3. Select the option for Create New Rubric and click Next.Create rubric space, Create new rubric selected and Next button highlighted
  4. Give your rubric a title and select the option for Custom Rubric. In the Rubric options input the number criteria rows and scale columns that will be required for your Rubric.   5. You will be presented with a table-like space where you can input your rubric details which include:
    • Criteria - Criteria title and Criteria description
    • Scales  - Scale Level Title, Score and Scale description

  6. When you are happy the rubric you have setup, scroll down to the end of the space and click Save.
