Grading a Turnitin Assignment
- Open your Moodle course page.
- Click the relevant Turnitin assignment link:
- This will open the Turnitin assignment Student submissions within the External tool tab:
- To access Turnitin's grading tools, click the pencil icon in the Grade column of a student’s submission:
- The Turnitin Feedback Studio opens.
- To enter a grade for a student’s submission, click and enter the grade in the box at the top right of the document viewer:
- Close the Turnitin document viewer. The grade you entered should now appear in the Grade column of the student’s submission:
Note: Remember that grades and feedback are not visible to students until the assignment feedback date has passed.
Adding Feedback Summary to an
Assignment
Feedback summary can be used to
communicate general text or audio feedback
comment on a
student’s assignment. To enter feedback
summary on a student’s assignment:
- Open your Moodle course page.
- Click the Turnitin assignment link. This will open the Turnitin assignment Student's submission list.
- To access Turnitin's grading tools, click the pencil icon in the Grade column. The Turnitin Feedback Studio opens.
- Click the Feedback tab and click Summary option:
- Click in the Summary Comment field and type your feedback comment. Note that there is a 5,000- character limit for the feedback summary. Ensure to click the Save button to save the summary feedback.
- You also have the option to include an accompanying voice note to provide subsequent feedback. Press the circle record button to begin and the square to stop recording. (This feature is returning in an upcoming Turnitin Feedback Studio update).
- When you have finished the voice note click Save recording. (This feature is returning in an upcoming Turnitin Feedback Studio update).
- Additionally, you have the option to provide QuickMarks feedback. Select the Quickmarks tab.
- Click on wherever you wish to insert a QuickMark and select the lightning chat icon.
- Here you can attribute a range of already created QuickMarks to improve efficiency and identify exactly where feedback is required.
