As of 17/06/2026 Turnitin has updated assignment feedback to include Audio and Video Summary feedback in the aim for instructors to personalise feedback and build stronger connections with students. 

  1. Navigate to and select the Turnitin assignment you wish to add video summary feedback to a submission within.

  2. Select the individual Submission link under the student's name in the submissions list you wish to add video summary feedback within.

  3. Click the Feedback menu and press the Summary tab in the Turnitin submission viewer.

  4. Select the Video summary button and ensure to toggle camera and microphone on in the top left corner of your default desktop.

  5. Select the Record button when ready and a 3 second countdown timer will begin.

  6. Select the Stop button when video recording is completed.

  7. There is a playback button available to see the video recording. When satisfied select Save button or a recycle bin icon to delete your video recording and start again.

  8. The video will take a few moments to process and a green verification will appear at the bottom left corner saying 'Video summary saved successfully'.

  9. If deletion is necessary select the recycle bin icon and press Delete recording in the pop-up window.
