As a lecturer or tutor, you can enable your students to submit video or audio assignments using the YuJa Media Management platform. Students can create media files in any major format, upload these to Yuja and submit the weblink to their work. This can be submitted as a Moodle assignment.

Note: As Turnitin only processes text, it is not a suitable environment for the submission of media content.


In order to set up a Moodle video assignment:

  1. Go to the relevant Moodle course.
  2. Click on the Edit mode toggle to switch editing on for the course page.Edit mode toggle
  3. Navigate to the week or section of the course you wish to add the assignment under on the main Moodle course page.
  4. Press the Plus button between any assignment or resource or select the Add an Activity or Resource button at the bottom of a section.

  5. Select Assignment from the Recommended tab.

  6. In the Submission types section on the course page, be sure to select Online text checkbox. This will allow submission of YuJa videos.

  7.  Complete all other Assignment settings as necessary. 
  8. Click Save and return to course.
