Since the introduction of Yuja MIC's Media Management Platform in 2022, we recommend that asynchronous presentations should be recorded directly in Yuja to avoid additional workload of exporting content to video format and uploading to the Yuja platform. See How do I record videos using Yuja? for guidance.

The following video provides a step by step guide on how to export a PowerPoint presentation to Video (MP4) format:

For text based instructions see the details below:

In order to export a recorded PowerPoint Presentation to Video (MP4) format:
    • Open the recorded PowerPoint, navigate to File and then click on the Export option available.
File Menu in Powerpoint with Export option highlighted
    • Select Create a Video:
    Creat a Video Export Option
      • From the dropdown menu, select Standard (480p) to minimize the size of the video and the time it will take to export.
      • Ensure Use Recorded Timings and Narrations is selected from the second dropdown menu.
Standard 480p and use recorded timings and narrations dropdown menu items highlighted
    • Then click on Create Video.
    Create Video Button Highlighted
    • Decide where you want to save the video and the name of the video
    • At the bottom of the screen, you will see the progress bar of the video being rendered.
    Export render progress toolbar
      • Ensure to wait until this is fully complete. Do not exit out of the PowerPoint during the rendering process. This may take some time depending on the size of the PowerPoint presentation and audio/video recorded.
    • Once your video has finished rendering, save your PowerPoint presentation before closing the file.
    • You will now have two separate files available - MP4 video file and your original PowerPoint presentation.
