Turnitin assignments usually
have
just one part (where just
one submission is required). If you have
specified that the assignment has more
than one part (where multiple submissions
are
required), each part will have
its own form, with the following
settings:
- Name: A name for the assignment part. The default is Part 1.
- Start Date: This defaults to the precise date and time the Turnitin assignment was created. Change this if you want students to be able to start submitting their work at a later date and time.
- Due Date: This defaults to seven days after the date and time at which you created the Turnitin assignment. Set this to the actual due date you want for your assignment.
- Post Date: If you are using Turnitin to grade and communicate feedback, this is the date on which grades and feedback are visible to students. The default is seven days after the date and time at which you created the Turnitin assignment. Modify this if you want your grades released on a different date or at a different time.
Note: We would advise to set the Post Date for assignments to some time after Exam Boards have convened and results are finalized.
If you are not using Turnitin to grade and communicate feedback, you simply need to ensure the Post Date is set to any date and time after the assignment Due Date. - Max Marks: Enter the maximum points that can be earned in this part. The default is 100.
Note: In multiple part assignments, if all parts have the same Max Marks value, the parts will be weighted equally in calculating the grade for the entire assignment that is recorded in the Moodle gradebook.
Note: Students may still be able to submit their work after the Due Date if you enable Allow Submissions after the Due Date (under Originality Report Options, below)
