You can find information on the 7 different types of resources in a standard Moodle site under the Resources Documentation on the MoodleDoc's website.

These resources include:

  • Book - Books are multi-page multimedia resources on Moodle, which can be written and updated by Teachers or those with appropriate permissions, and can contain, video, audio, and text. 
  • File  - Documents, video files, or various singular multimedia files uploaded to Moodle.
  • Folder - Folders are resources which contain a number of other Moodle resources in order to organise.
  • IMS content package - interactive static course files (ie. SCORM).
  • Page  - A single screen of information and content.
  • Text and media area - Can be a few displayed words or an image used to separate resources and activities in a topic section or can be a lengthy description or instuctions.
  • URL  - Web addresses.
