TinyMCE Editor permits users to directly insert images and videos on Moodle

To add an image:

  1. Within the description section of an Assignment or resource, select the toolbar (⋯) option to expand the TinyMCE Editor.

  2. Select the Image icon.

  3. In the Insert image menu, drag and drop the downloaded image you wish to attach into the box or select Browse repositories to look for the image stored within your files.

  4. It will take a few moments to upload within the Insert image menu.
    When it is 100% uploaded, you can select whether you want the image its Standard size or select a Custom size. You can adjust the width x height of the image insert and keep proportion.
    You can also choose as to whether you want to include a description of the image in the text box provided underneath the image, as an alt text format to improve accessibility.
    You also have the option to make the image for decorative purposes only, not requiring a description.

  5. Select Save when you are satisfied with the image created for Moodle editor.

To add an video:
  1. Again within the description section ensure the toolbar (⋯) option is selected to expand the TinyMCE Editor.

  2. Select the Multimedia option.

  3. Navigate to the Video tab.

  4. Insert the Video source URL you wish to insert.

  5. Edit any of the settings required in the domain of Display options, Advanced settings and accessibility through Subtitles and captions.Available configurations of Display options, Advanced settings and Subtitles and captions.

  6. Ensure to select the Insert media button when satisfied with settings.
