Questions can be exported from Quiz
or the Question bank format in any of the 5 formats:
- Aiken
- GIFT
- Moodle XML
- Microsoft Word 2010 table format

- XHTML
Exporting questions can be useful
for:
- Printing as a physical version for
in-person exams
- Sharing them with an external
examiner
- Moderating the questions
- Expand the More tab on the course page and select Question bank.
- Manipulate the Questions dropdown to Export.
- Choose the appropriate File format type you wish to export your questions in a category in by checking the file type.(It is recommended to use the Moodle XML or Microsoft Word 2010 table format (wordtable) - Word permits repurposing the questions for class use).Aiken permits accessing the questions and answers only in a .txt file that is opened via Notepad, while Microsoft Word 2010 table format (wordtable) provides settings in addition to questions and potential.XHTML allows a view of questions and potential answers in a Quiz style format, but you cannot submit answers through this.
- Select the Export category you wish to export questions from by expanding the dropdown button.
- When you have selected the appropriate file format and category, ensure to click the Export questions to file button.
- Once it has been downloaded to your computer, click Continue to return back to the Questions menu. If it did not download there is a Click here button to attempt re-download.
