It is possible to blur out a part of a video using Clipchamp for example if you wish to hide participants from a MS teams call recording or keep anonymity of an item in the video.
In order to do so:
- Add desired media to the timeline - see How to add media to your timeline for editing in Clipchamp article for details on this. The media in the timeline will appear in the viewing square at the centre of the editing screen.
- Repeat the process again so there are two media files running at the same time in the timeline.
- In order to apply the blur on a component of the video, you will need to edit the top media file on the timeline. In order to do so, click on the top media in the timeline, this will be highlighted in purple.
- Once highlighted, click on the crop icon on the top of the screen and crop the media file just to the portion of the media file you wish to blur out.
- Once complete, click on the Effect icon on the ribbon menu available on the right side of the screen.
- From the list available, click on Blur effect. Other effects are also available to use if desired.
- Use the toggle underneath the blur effect if you wish to increase or reduce the intensity of the blur.
- Playback the video by click on the play
button to review the video.
