Archiving of Pages from
2022-23
To simplify access to modules from the
past academic year, pages from 2021-22
have archived within the current Moodle
site. This will make for easier reference
to last year’s courses for both academic
staff and for students and, further, will
remove the need to sign into a separate
archive site as in previous years.
You can see that this archiving has been
completed by checking the navigation
‘breadcrumbs’ for any of your past year
courses. In the following example, the
course has been placed in the Education
Archive for 2021-22 (2122):
Accessing course pages from the 2021-22 Academic Year
To avoid causing confusion when the new
academic year starts, all archived courses
will move from being ‘In Progress’ to
being ‘Past’ courses. What this
means is that from Sunday 28
August 2022, courses for the 2021-22 academic year
will be considered to be past and
completed and will not appear on the
Moodle Dashboard by default.
Access will still be simple
as, on the Moodle Dashboard, the filter button (indicated below)
can be used to move between ‘In
Progress’ or current modules, ‘Past’
and ‘Future’ course pages. This will
help to reduce clutter for you and for
your students.
To protect the integrity of the course
records, archived courses will become Read-only. This is to ensure that
no inadvertent changes are made and that
students cannot submit assignments by
accident.
Academic staff can
continue to access and download materials
on pages when required.
