Troubleshooting MIC Reading Lists - MIC-LEAD Knowledge Base

Error: Illegal Institution – Please try again

If you encounter difficulty accessing MIC Reading Lists:

Check that you are using a suitable browser:

Note on Browsers

Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox are recommended and supported browsers for accessing MIC Moodle and MIC Reading Lists;
Apple Safari*and Microsoft Edge may be used but are not supported; Safari may require the configuration of additional settings;
Microsoft Internet Explorer will not work with MIC Moodle or MIC Reading Lists and should not be used.

Check that you are using the latest version of Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox browsers;

Confirm that you are:

Enrolled to an MIC Module that offers the MIC Reading List service from the MIC Library;
That you are signed in to MIC Moodle;
That you are accessing the correct Module page on Moodle.

Ensure that your browser has been configured to accept cookies for MIC Moodle.
If using:

Chrome: visit Delete, allow and manage cookies on Chrome and review the section Computer | Change your cookie settings | Allow third-party cookies for a specific site
Firefox: visit Websites say cookies are blocked – unblock them.

Clear your browser’s history for the problem site - in this case leganto.mic.ul.ie:
If using:

Chrome: visit Clear cache and Cookies. Alternatively, visit Delete, allow and manage cookies in Chrome.
Firefox: visit Delete browsing, search and download history on Firefox and review the section Remove a single website from your history. Alternatively, visit Clear cookies and site data in Firefox.

The following MIC website addresses should be permitted to accept cookies:

moodle.mic.ul.ie
leganto.mic.ul.ie

*If using Apple Safari, specific permissions may be required to permit cookies from moodle.mic.ul.ie and leganto.mic.ul.ie. Refer to Enable cookies in Safari on Mac and review settings according to your version.
